The 2011 Subaru Outback is a midsize crossover that is easy to drive, comfortable to ride in and not nearly as thirsty for gasoline as many of its larger competitors.

Outback trims include 2.5i, 2.5i Premium, 2.5i Limited, 3.6R, 3.6R Premium and the 3.6R Limited. The 2.5i Limited (MSRP $28,495) is the highest Outback trim still available with the Subaru?s efficient, 2.5-liter horizontally opposed four-cylinder BOXER engine. The engine produces 170 hp and 170 lb/ft of torque. Projector low-beam headlights, color-cued door handles and side mirrors and standard roof rails are all standard equipment. Cruise control, keyless entry, power windows and door locks and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gearshift knob are also part of the 2.5i Limited Package. 

 

In Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) testing, the 2011 Outback attained the highest rating, ?Good,? in frontal offset, side-impact and roof crush crash tests, and is designated an IIHS ?Top Safety Pick.?
