The Outback Grows Up, Adopts a More Mature Look
In 2015, Outback released its most recent generation--and that wagon was one of the first models in the historical lineup to go from "gawky teenager" to "confident and bold". The 2018 Subaru Outback further builds on that growth, giving the lower exterior a more rugged look, the face a wider, lower design, and redesigning the headlights.
Trim level options for the new 2018 Subaru Outback include the base-level Outback 2.5i, mid-level Outback 2.5i Premium and Outback 2.5i Limited, the top-tier Outback 2.5i Touring, and the high-performance, six-cylinder-equipped Outback 3.6R Limited and Outback 3.6R Touring.

2017 Subaru Outback vs 2018 Subaru Outback
Because the Outback is in the fourth year of its product cycle, we won't see drastic changes. Specs, engines, dimensions, etc. stay the same at the 2017 model. But, since this is the year of the "big minor change", there's plenty to admire about differences between 2017 and 2018 Outback models.
- A revised front fascia
- A refreshed interior: more premium materials, new center console, new interior color palettes available
- The A/C system has been updated to cool air faster--perfect for Rhode Island summers
- Multimedia has been updated for 2018: new USB ports for rear passengers, touchscreen is larger by 0.3", available TomTom navigation, improved voice recognition tech
- Ride quality has been improved through retuned suspension, reduced engine noise, reduced wind noise, and sound-insulating glass
- New Steering Responsive Headlights have been added to EyeSight available options
