October Is Subaru Loves Pets Month

Overview
For many, pets are an integral part of life, and their unconditional love makes them even more special to us. That is why Subaru, a brand that maintains a special love for animals, has dedicated October as Subaru Loves Pets month. During this time, Subaru aims to improve the conditions and overall well-being of animals who aren’t fortunate enough to live under the roof of a caring owner. According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), nearly 6.3 million companion animals enter shelters annually, and Subaru is on a mission to give them all a home.
As part of the Subaru Love Promise and Subaru Loves Pets initiative, our team at Balise Subaru will be hosting adoption events to help local shelter pets find their dream home. In total, Subaru has donated over $42 million to national and local organization. These funds have been accrued to help adopt, rescue, transport, and provide healthcare to approximately 350,000 animals and pets. If you would like to learn about Subaru’s partnerships, shelter donations, and more, continue reading to see how you can make a difference today.
Subaru Loves Pets: Partnerships
Since 2008, Subaru has donated over $33 million to the ASPCA, a number which has directly impacted close to 104,000 animals. Subaru also sponsored two studies conducted by the Center for Pet Safety and partnered with the dog-loving retail brand BARK in 2016 to support adoptions from participating rescues and shelters.
Rooting for the Underdogs
The underdogs hardly ever get the attention they deserve, and Balise Subaru is intent on setting things right. During Subaru Loves Pets month, we are partnering with the East Greenwich Animal Protection League and will donate $100 to them for every pet adoption in October. Plus, October 22 marks Subaru’s 4th annual National Make A Dog’s Day, which is dedicated to inviting all dog lovers to do something special for their furry friends. Those in shelters should be given extra special attention, especially the older, physically limited, or otherwise unconventional dogs that we adoringly call the Underdogs. To help spread the word, you can post a picture or video of yourself on social media pampering your pup using the #MakeADogsDay hashtag. Whether that comes in the form of belly rubs or giving your special friend their favorite treat is totally up to you – the options for spoiling them are endless!
