Trims, Powertrains, and Fuel Economy
Five trims are available for the 2024 Legacy: Base, Premium, Limited, Sport, and Touring XT. The first three come with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine making 182 hp and 176 lb.-ft. of torque. The Sport and Touring XT, though, are stocked with an invigorating turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder that puts out 260 hp and 277 lb.-ft. of torque. Both powerplants are linked to a continuously variable transmission that sends power to all four wheels via the Symmetrical AWD system. Models equipped with the 2.5-liter engine pull off an EPA-estimated 27 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway, whereas those with the turbo powerplant achieve 23 city/31 highway.
Base
The Base trim features a sizable slate of desirable amenities, such as LED steering-responsive headlights, automatic high beams, remote keyless entry, single-zone automatic climate control, a tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel with paddle shifters, and a functional 60/40-split folding rear seatback. It also has a compelling infotainment system contained within a 7-inch touchscreen that manages these features: Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming, HD Radio, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a four-speaker audio system.
For safety, Subaru’s EyeSight driver-assist technology suite is standard to add to the operator’s confidence with pre-collision braking, advanced adaptive cruise control with lane centering, lane departure and sway warning, lane keep assist, and automatic emergency steering.
Premium
For a more indulgent experience, the Premium adds heated front seats, a power driver’s seat, heated side mirrors, a windshield wiper de-icer, dual-zone automatic climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, a front-row USB-C port, and two rear USB charging ports (one Type-A and one Type-C). The infotainment system is enhanced as well with an 11.6-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and a six-speaker audio system.
For buyers who want even more amenities, this trim is eligible for these options: a moonroof, proximity keyless entry, push-button start, built-in navigation, infotainment voice recognition, blind-spot detection, lane change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert.
Limited
The Limited gets leather seats, heated rear outboard seats, proximity keyless entry, push-button start, LED fog lights, a power-adjustable front passenger’s seat, position memory for the driver’s seat and side mirrors, an auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink, and a top-quality Harman Kardon sound system with 12 speakers. Blind-spot detection, lane change assist, and rear cross-traffic alert join the safety tech suite. At the time of ordering, buyers can add DriverFocus distraction mitigation technology, a heated steering wheel, navigation, voice recognition, and a moonroof.
Sport
The Sport flaunts a distinctive look with a trunk-mounted spoiler, stainless-steel exhaust outlets, and sport cloth upholstery with red contrast stitching. While it goes without the leather upholstery, power front passenger’s seat, heated rear seats, and memory settings found in the Limited, it compensates with its own set of upscale amenities: a heated steering wheel, a moonroof, and the DriverFocus distraction mitigation system.
Touring XT
At the height of the Legacy range, the Touring XT’s cabin is fit for royalty with ventilated front seats, Nappa leather upholstery, heated rear outboard seats, a power front passenger’s seat, and position memory settings. It also gets a 180-degree front-view camera, power-folding side mirrors, voice recognition for the infotainment system, and integrated navigation.
