2026 Subaru Trailseeker: Coming Soon to West Warwick, RI

The next generation of Subaru electrification is about to shift into high gear. After scouting the landscape out with the Solterra compact electric crossover, the automaker is jumping in with both feet with the all-new Subaru Trailseeker. Recently unveiled at the 2025 New York International Auto Show, the midsize Trailseeker features an advanced electric powertrain, roomy passenger and cargo accommodations, and a sleek yet rugged design. Subaru is planning to launch the Trailseeker in early 2026. Here's a quick look at what we know so far.

Performance

The 2026 Subaru Trailseeker utilizes front and rear electric motors to produce a robust 375 horsepower and can reach 60 mph from a standstill in a Subaru-estimated 4.5 seconds. The EV-tuned Symmetrical All-Wheel-Drive system delivers surefooted handling in a variety of conditions, while dual-function X-MODE® helps optimize traction on loose, slippery, and other low-grip surfaces.

A 75-kWh battery enables a manufacturer-estimated 260 miles of range, while the standard NACS charging port makes the Trailseeker compatible with DC fast-charging stations up to 150 kW.

Accommodations

The 2026 Trailseeker's cabin draws inspiration from its Solterra predecessor, sporting a sleek and modern interior with intuitive controls, quality materials, and cozy, ergonomic seats that provide long-distance comfort. While official measurements aren't available just yet, the Trailseeker's midsize dimensions translate to more head and legroom for front and rear passengers, as well as a larger cargo area.

The 2026 Subaru Trailseeker is nicely equipped with many comforts and conveniences, including standard amenities like heated seats, a power liftgate, a power driver's seat, roof rails, and StarTex® water-repellent upholstery. Depending on the trim level, you can upgrade your Rhode Island drives with features like:

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto work wirelessly, seamlessly integrating a wide range of smartphone features without extra cord clutter. Plus, thanks to the standard dual wireless charging pads, you can go completely cable-free. The available Digital Key feature allows you to use your smartphone to open the doors and start the engine without needing to carry a traditional key fob.
