2025 Subaru Legacy

Overview
Much to the disappointment of loyal buyers who have long appreciated the Subaru Legacy’s many fine attributes over the past 35 years, the automaker has announced that 2025 will be the final one for this model. Throughout its run, the Legacy has been known as a steadfast daily driver, notable for its standard all-wheel drivetrain – a feature typically reserved for utility vehicles. As we bid farewell to this iconic Subaru sedan, its last iteration introduces a few notable standard amenities to the mid-range Limited trim, including a moonroof, a heated steering wheel, and a driver-attention monitor.

Trims, Powertrain, and Performance
You’ll have five trim choices for the 2025 Legacy: Base, Premium, Limited, Sport, and Touring XT. The Base, Premium, and Limited receive a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine (output: 182 hp and 176 lb.-ft. of torque), while the Sport and Touring XT get a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that puts out 260 hp and 277 lb.-ft. of torque. Both engines are paired with a continuously variable transmission with paddle shifters; it transfers the power to the standard all-wheel drivetrain. According to the EPA, the 2.5-liter versions achieve an estimated 27 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway, while those with the 2.4-liter turbo pull off 23 city/31 highway.
