The Outback is equipped with the standard 175 horsepower SUBARU BOXER® engine with up to 32 mpg, or you can upgrade to the smooth and powerful 256 horsepower 6-cylinder engine.

Both SUVs can tow a small trailer, but the Ascent can tow a small boat thanks to its 5,000-pound maximum towing capacity. The Outback can still tow up to 2,700 pounds or 3,000 pounds with the 6-cylinder engine option.

You will be able to conquer rough terrain in either model thanks to 8.7 inches of ground clearance and X-MODE®, which optimizes the all-wheel-drive system.
