Trims and Powertrain

Subaru offers the 2024 WRX in a choice of five trims: Base, Premium, Limited, TR, and GT. Under the hood of every WRX lies a turbocharged 2.4-liter flat-four Boxer engine, generating 271 horsepower. Subaru's all-wheel-drive system is standard across the trim range. True driving enthusiasts are thrilled to know that they can still get a six-speed manual transmission: it’s standard on all trims except for the GT, which gets a continuously variable transmission (CVT) with eight-speed manual mode. Those seeking the convenience of an automatic transmission can opt for the CVT on the Premium and Limited trims. The 2024 WRX with the manual gearbox is EPA-rated to achieve 19 mpg in city driving and 26 mpg on the highway. With the CVT, that dips to 18 mpg in urban settings and 25 mpg during highway cruising.

Standard Features

The Base trim’s standard equipment highlights are fabric upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, LED headlights with auto on/off, power side mirrors, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, 60/40 split-folding rear seats, multiple USB ports, a tilt-and-telescopic steering column, and 17-inch alloy wheels. The Premium is enhanced with heated front seats, proximity keyless entry, LED fog lights, push-button start, a windshield wiper de-icer, heated power side mirrors, a trunk spoiler, and 18-inch wheels.

The Limited ramps things up with a power moonroof, Ultrasuede upholstery, steering-responsive headlights (the beams are pointed in the direction of the front wheels), and a ten-way power driver's seat. The TR trim adds a stronger performance edge to the WRX with Brembo brakes, a performance-tuned suspension, Recaro front seats, an eight-way power driver's seat, and 19-inch wheels with high-performance tires. (To save weight and lower the center of gravity, this trim skips the moonroof.) At the top of the lineup, the GT expands on the Limited’s features list by adding adaptive suspension dampers, a drive mode selector, Recaro front seats, an eight-way power driver's seat, and 18-inch wheels.

Advanced Driver Aids and Safety Technology

EyeSight driver-assist technology comes standard on all WRX trims. It includes pre-collision braking, lane departure and sway warning with lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control with lane centering, and automatic high beams. Blind-spot detection with lane change assist and rear cross-traffic alert is standard on the Limited, TR, and GT. Reverse automatic braking is included with the GT and optional with the Limited. Multiple airbags, anti-lock brakes, stability control, traction control, and a rearview monitor are also part of the WRX's supplement safety equipment.

Infotainment and Connectivity

You’ll stay connected and informed on the road thanks to the WRX’s 11.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Its chief components are Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, Starlink cloud-based apps, and access to connected services for emergency support, vehicle monitoring, and remote features. While the Base and Premium have a six-speaker audio system, the Limited and above upgrade to a Harman Kardon audio unit with 11 speakers (optional for the Premium). Navigation and voice recognition are added to the Limited, TR, and GT.
