The thrill of life is the unexpected – from the ups and downs to the twists and turns in the road before you. So that you can feel confident behind the wheel, we’ve taken safety into our own hands. From top to bottom and front to back, the Impreza is fortified with the most advanced safety features.

Go ahead and have fun on the road because we’ve got your back. With a standard rear-vision camera, the Impreza keeps an eye on what’s behind you. Plus with seven standard airbags and a ring-shaped reinforcement frame, you and your passengers will feel completely protected. Now with the available EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology, you’ll always have an extra set of eyes on the road to keep the fun times rolling. From pre-collision breaking to adaptive cruise control, Subaru has taken safety to a whole new level.

For Subaru, safety doesn’t end on the production line. Even after you drive off the lot, your safety is still our priority. That’s why every Impreza comes with 24-hour roadside assistance for 3 years or 36,000 miles.

With safety at the forefront of its design, it’s no wonder the Impreza has been an IIHS Top Safety Pick for 9 years running.

Safety features aren’t the Toyota Corolla’s strong suit. Take, for instance, the fact that the integrated backup camera is only an available feature on the Corolla. When you’re out on the road, you want to be assured that your vehicle has your back. If this modern, yet critical safety feature isn’t standard on the Corolla, can you imagine what more important safety components it’s missing?

A vehicle’s performance speaks volumes about the brand’s overall philosophy. At Subaru, we believe that life is too short to be wasted. That’s the reason we designed the Impreza for the young hearted; for those who refuse to take no for an answer.

Every Impreza comes standard with Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and the Subaru Boxer® Engine, providing you with maximum control and power behind the wheel. Whenever you’re on the road, you’ll have the will power and the vehicle power you need for the journey ahead.

The Impreza gets 37 highway MPG1, making it easy to push the limits. Plus, every 2016 Impreza achieves Partial Zero Emission Vehicle (PZEV) status due to its low emissions. Life has never felt as good as it does in the Impreza!

The Corolla’s performance doesn’t even compare to the Impreza’s. The Corolla comes standard as a front-wheel drive vehicle, and does not even have an all-wheel drive option. This means that even when you’re traveling in bad weather, the Corolla can only guarantee two wheels on the road at a time. Once your confidence is shaken, your entire outlook on life will change. Plus, the Corolla has a 13.2-gallon fuel tank (compared to the Impreza’s 14.5-gallon one) and only gets 36 highway MPG. No matter which way you look at it, the Corolla can’t go as far as the Impreza.

If you’re going to push the limits in your life, you need a vehicle that isn’t afraid to do the same. The Impreza makes the best traveling companion, bringing you almost endless entertainment and information options. The standard Starlink in-vehicle technology features Pandora®, iHeart® Radio, Stitcher, Aha, and much more. Everything you could possibly need to access is just a finger swipe away on the LCD touchscreen display.

The base model Corolla’s Entune Audio system is limited in its capabilities. Sure, it has the USB port and Bluetooth® connectivity, but so do most vehicles on the market. With the Corolla, you’re limited to listening to music and making phone calls. The app suite with greater functionality is an available feature in the Corolla, whereas it’s standard in the Impreza. If fun is standard in your life, why accept it as available in your vehicle?

Passenger Space

Subaru knows that in today’s world, one size most certainly does not fit all. That’s the reason we’ve designed two body styles for the Impreza: 4-door and 5-door. Whatever style your heart chooses, you can’t be steered in the wrong direction.

For a compact car, the Impreza offers a surprisingly generous amount of passenger space. The 4-door and 5-door have a passenger volume of 96.9 cubic feet and 97.5 cubic feet respectively. This is yet another way the Impreza pushes its boundaries.

The Corolla may have a comparable amount of space to the Impreza, but considering that the Corolla finishes behind the Impreza in all other areas (safety, performance, and technology), space isn’t going to cut it.
